Plate Buddies™ are fun magnetic characters that turn mealtime into an adventure. Kids pick their buddy, place it under their clear plate, and use the matching themed recipe mat to bring their meal to life.
Plate Buddies are best for kids ages 2–7, but older siblings often enjoy joining in too, especially when meals are silly, themed, or reward-based.
By giving kids a say in the meal plan and making mealtime playful, Plate Buddies reduce resistance and build routine. It’s a simple behavior design trick that works: involve the child, and they’re more likely to try what’s on their plate.
Nope! Plate Buddies work with any clear plate. Our Premium Kit includes a tempered glass one, but any see-through dish will do the trick.
Not at all. Plate Buddies are designed for screen-free engagement. Kids interact physically with the magnets, recipe mats, and calendar, no app needed (yet).
The magnets and thermal mats are wipe-clean only. The clear plates in our kits are dishwasher-safe, but we always recommend top-rack only to extend life.
Right now, you can order our Starter and Premium Kits. Our full Happy Plate system, with tech, LED tracking, and app connectivity, is in development and coming soon.
Yes! Each kit includes a magnetic “Happy Plate” tracker. After meals, place it on the calendar next to the Plate Buddy used, no app or sensors required to start building healthy habits.
That’s totally okay. Plate Buddies aren’t about perfection — they’re about progress. Even a few bites are a win. Use the reward magnet to encourage effort, not pressure clean plates.
